What's Hot in Revit Add-ons for July-October 2015

Today marks the return of the popular "What's Hot" series of posts here on Revit Add-ons. Intended to be monthly, life has recently gotten in the way of these posts. To catch up, I'm combining the past 4 months in a single post. Enjoy!

A little refresher on which posts are included: only product-centric posts focusing on add-ins from a single vendor are included; "What's Hot" and "Autodesk App Store" roundup posts are not included.

Some of the biggest Revit news of recent months has been the announcement of V-Ray for Revit, and that's reflected here by the popularity of a couple of related posts.

My experiment in providing a single point of reference for Autodesk product enhancements for Revit 2016 also proved to be quite popular.

V-Ray for Revit Announced at RTC NA
V-Ray for Revit was announced at the Revit Technology Conference North America in Washington DC on July 23. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for the product to drop.

A related teaser trailer I posted about also generated interest.

Roundup – Autodesk Product Enhancements for Revit 2016
I thought it might be useful to the readership to have a single reference resource for all the Revit 2016 enhancements offered by Autodesk, hence this post. I've updated it as more information became available.

For ease of access to this and future posts like this, I've placed a hotlinked image in the right sidebar:

For the first time, for those looking for a specific app, I included add-ins that were available for the previous version that are not yet available for the current release. Known discontinued add-ins are shown with grey text.

Free Rhythm Package for Dynamo, with Some Keen Updates from RTC NA
As of July 27, there were 591 packages from 131 authors available from the Dynamo Package Manager. A few I've been aware of and meaning to post about. One of the packages that was not on my radar until I saw a tweet while monitoring RTC NA post-goings-on is Rhythm by John Pierson of 60 Second Revit. In his own post-RTC NA post, John added a node to make Revit parameter getting and setting from Dynamo NOT case sensitive.

Dynamo graph for Case insensitive

Damn but that's clever...

He also added a node to get the percentage of glazing per wall direction.

So, what else is in Rhythm? A whole lot!

Teaser: CTC Adds BIM Batch Suite and Mechanical Productivity Pack
On July 23 Oliver Turan teased "a few new tools" and a Mechanical Productivity Pack. From the photo, it looks like a new BIM Batch Suite has joined CTC's BIM Manager Suite and BIM Project Suite. We'll get you the details as they become available.
